Block party organized by Sud de France with the French Consulate and Accueil New York.
Free entrance
You haven't been to a block party until you've been to a Sud de France block party. Taking inspiration fromguinguettes– buoyant cabarets where people would eat and dance on feast days – we’re throwing a festival within a festival. First, we'll be taking over an entire city block and filling it with a table that covers the entire length of the street! (Yes, this is how passionate we are.) Recreating the feel of a typical market in the South of France, you'll have your pick of the region's most delicious foods, to purchase or to enjoy on the spot. As a special treat, French-born chef Laurent Kalkotour of the recently opened restaurant Atrium at Dumbo will be making one of Languedoc's most beloved specialties, brandade de morue, a wickedly flavorful salt cod dish made with the most sublime olive oil. The Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream truck will also be serving a surprise Sud de France ice cream flavor. You will also indulge on Cemoi chocolate, taste the Fleur de Sel from Camargue and quench your thirst with Perrier. In between bites, a live band will no doubt tempt you out of your seats and onto the dance floor. Let the good times roll!
